Let’s play with paint again

i agree wholeheartedly with picasso, “every child is an artist.”

Would you like to forget all inhibitions & “Paint Like a Kid Again?”

What qualities of a child do we most admire (especially in trying new things):

  • The Simple JOY of experimenting with new materials

  • Being so in the moment, exploring the texture and feel of coordination between eye, hand and paper

  • Not caring what anyone else thinks

  • No context for “How it should look”

  • Exploration for sake of it

  • Not knowing what’s a “mistake” vs what’s “Intentional”

  • Freedom in PLAY

Then I encourage your to please sign up & be the first to know about when this course will be available (I’m working on it right now!)

I’d love for to join me as we play and paint like a Kid Again!

Who is this For?

Are you CURIOUS?

If you are a "budding" artist, someone who never thought about trying to paint but also had an "inkling" somewhere inside them to try because it might be fun!

If you are wanting to try, but “paralyzed” from starting to paint by the dreaded white canvas, and don't know where to start, then this eCourse was designed for you.

Are you CONFIDENT?

If you already express yourself creatively and looking to learn new skills sets in art. Maybe you have always loved crafts, gardening, drawing or cooking and you have always wanted to “dabble” in abstract painting!

Sign up with me and learn new ways to have fun and start with a blank canvas.

Are you committed?

Are you a “committed” artist with a solid art practice? Maybe you’re fine arts background, sculptor or abstract painter yourself. This workshop still can be beneficial to you. If you are an experienced artist who might be "stuck in a rut," looking to break out of their own old routine, looking for something new and different and interested in learning another artist's process for inspiration, then come join me!

Hello

My name is Kathryn Neale and I'm a professional abstract artist with over 20 years creating abstract paintings. In my past I've also worked as a graphic/web designer and currently as a User Experience (UX) Designer, so I have a wealth of knowledge on creating physical art as well as digital products in the art/design world. I graduated with a MA from Eastern Illinois University and an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis.

I know it sounds skeptical to believe but I was once like you, afraid to call myself "an artist" and terrified of a blank canvas. In my MA program, I discovered a new mindset shift that allowed me to embrace the first step of a painting as the most exciting part of this process. This launched me into new breakthroughs in expressing myself as an abstract painter. As I teach and share my process with other fellow novice artists, I see that same anxiety and self-doubt about starting to paint.

That is why I created this workshop, to help creatively-inclined folks courageously embrace the dreaded "white canvas" so that they can freely paint intuitively and from the heart. The techniques, tips and tricks that I teach in this workshop, are the starting point to help facilitate ideas on how to begin a painting without anxiety or fear.
