I painted this one and Day 84 at the same time after my Dad passed on previous Saturday (6/27). I feel like these remind me of him. He always had major heart issues all of his life which was the final cause of his death. BUT, we always joked and noted how ironic it was that he of all people should have heart issues when he has the biggest heart of anyone we knew. He was so sweet, generous and kind, always thinking and worrying about you, your life, loved ones. Supported my mom whole-heartedly (no pun intended!) and these I painted together in tandem, seemed to "explode" with "red" bursts of heart energy. I pulled back and realized how lovely it seemed to be reminded of his presence, for me, in these paintings.
